EDM---Fantastic-4.jpgIn this era of mass consumption, looking for original clothes or accessories without breaking your wallet could be a real problem.

Happily, what seems to characterize the youngest generation of entrepreneurs lately, particularly in Africa seems to be an attraction for fashion. That led to the multiplication of online stores, independent designers (indie) brands, producing anything from bracelets to t-shirts or hoodies, for the grand public. Among them, you have EauDeMars Clothing and RedFranklin. I had the opportunity to spot some of their models and I have to say they're doing a pretty good job.

Founded by a young Cameroonian in the UK, EauDeMars clothing specializes in t-shirts design (at least for now), with a taste of what characterizes british fashion, I mean class and precision. It's an invitation to travel in the world of aliens or good ol cartoon-like characters.

For its part, RedFranklin, a Parisian-born brand inviting us to go beyond our time; Klassfuturistik as they define it. A world led as an army, with officers, having shoulder pads on all their clothes, even on their t-shirts :).

What motivates all these young guys? They solely really know. One thing is sure, they decided  to be their own boss, doing something that they like. I think they have already won, by defining their own destiny.

Nowadays, a lot of people tend to bask in their jobs, the ones that have been defined by their education or society, sometimes not really doing what they are really thrilled about. Maybe it's a path of reflection for you, for us.

I'm sure you can feel that you missed me a lot because I decided to flood the blog with a lot of new articles. I think my whim about Sneakers isn't over yet. Maybe because I'm still looking for the One,... that will make me feel like a kid on the first day of school (depending on the kid, but I'm talking about the joyful one, lol). While looking for new models, I found pretty interesting ones, and an amazing site, shipping worldwide: LuisaViaRoma.

Prices are ranging from €165 for a Converse to €595 for a Dior Homme sneakers, knowing that my budget is more near the lower bound :), gifts are welcomed.

Here is my selection (The designers are Marc Jacobs for the third one, and Lanvin for the last one, D&G for the others):

As the end of year approaches, so does Christmas. For this special time, there are so many things that I wish to receive. For this article, I will just stick to electronic and accessories :).

blackberry bold 9700 shoppingblogIt's when you realize that you need to be able to access your email anytime particularly when you are looking for a job, that you realize that your "old" V9 can't do it anymore. So the first thing I want is a new phone with the most recent technologies (A-GPS, Wifi, Email,...). I don't intend to use it to listen music, since my iPod still does the trick. Plus I have never been a huge fan of all-in-one phones. I prefer separate items for specific things.

At a moment of my life, I wanted to work in the mobile phone industry, particularly for Motorola. I could have wished for the new Cliq from the U.S company, because I want a phone with a keyboard, but I think no one is better at that than RIM. That's why my choice of the moment is the Blackberry Bold 9700.

Second item: Who talk about holidays talk about memories. Therefore a new camera will be handy. I broke mine, so I won't forget to take an insurance against glass breaking when I will get a new one. I'm falling for compacts from Sony or Canon, featuring 10 or 12Mpx cameras at approximately 350€, like the Canon IXUS 120IS Blue or the Sony TX1 Gold.

We'll see If Santa comes by this 25th, I know he's also suffering from the recession :D.

For those who never heard of the term, this article isn't about another financial crisis, or a catastrophe. The "Black Friday" is the first Friday right after Thanksgiving (celebrated the 4th Thursday of November in the U.S.). It's the day marking the start of the shopping period after year end celebrations.

For this occasion, many stores are doing amazing sales on everything, going from books to - what is the most interesting for me - electronics. So if you want to buy a new camera, phone or whatever, just jump on the occasion. Amazon.com will start sales at 10 A.M CET (2 P.M. GMT).

There is even a web site dedicated to Black Friday: http://www.blackfriday.info/.
